Notes |
- Keith's mother died shortly after his second birthday and he went to live with his aunt (Louisa Franks), uncle and their two single daughters until he was old enough to start school, when he came home to live with his father, two sisters and elder brother.
Keith had a pleasant personality, was a bright likeable person, popular among friends and family. He did well at school but, as was fairly common in those days, at the completion of his primary schooling, he came home to work on the family farm.
Keith played cricket for some years with the Pinery Cricket Club and was a useful player. He was keen on fox-hunting and spotlight shooting and was a better-than-average shot. He was a good driver, loved cars and competed successfully in several local car trials.
With Marjorie's help he established a comfortable home and very neat garden. Keith was a good worker for local affairs but was not one to seek office, although he was an office-bearer with the Church of England in Owen for some time. He had always appeared fit and healthy, but at the age of 42 he passed away after a short illness. His sudden passing shocked the family and district. His funeral was well-attended, showing the esteem in which he was held. (The Tucker Family in Australia, 1992)
