Notes |
- Perc and Doris travelled all over the Metropolitan area with the Metropolitan Choir and Lyric Quartet (both were male choirs) and sang with the Hindmarsh Church choir at half-yearly baptist meetings. Perc was also a member of the Masonic lodge.
Perc proposed to Doris on Guy Fawkes night as they sat in his car with fireworks going on all around them. He gave her a ring and they went to Perc's parent to show them and celebrate with strawberries; then they went to Grandma Adcock's were they again celebrated with strawberries. Strawberries were a luxury in those days and were only available for a few weeks. Every year for 56 years Perc bought Strawberries on that anniversary. The last year he was too ill to get them himself but he remembered and Doris had both them. Sadly he died that weekend. (The Tucker Family in Australia, 1992)
