At the time of his marriage, Frank was 5ft 11 ins tall had blue eyes with fair hair and complexion and worked as an Auto Electrician Mechanic . He married Beryl Lorraine McCauley on 29 January 1938. In January 1942 Frank enlisted in the AIF at Sans Souci. A summary of his war service is as follows:
