  • Notes
    • Ted was educated at the Perth Boys' School, matriculating in 1921. Being one of seven children precluded continuing at University, so he joined the National Bank, serving in Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria. His first managerial appointment was at Koorda, in the north eastern wheat-belt of WA and then at Wyalkatchem, 50 kilometers nearer Perth. He was then transferred to Melbourne Head Office as Branch Audit Officer and after four years returned to suburban branches in Perth before becoming a Branch Inspector. He retired in 1967. His sporting interests included golf, cricket, tennis, swimming and later, bowls. In Koorda Ted captained the Golf Club and was on the committees of the Agricultural Society and local church; in Wyalkatchem he was president of the football and badminton clubs and served on the church vestry and hospital board; back in Perth he was President of the Leederville Chamber of Commerce and Vice-President of the local Liberal Party. Ted and Iris were also interested in family history, Ted having attended and addressed gatherings honouring the Antill pioneers of the Picton area NSW.
