  Arrived Fremantle Western Australia aboard the "Daylight" on 28 August 1875 In 1876 he was a Police Officer at Guildford, Western Australia. He met Alice while gardener at Lydia Duffield's Orphanage. William and Alice sailed aboard the "Thames" to Sydney in 1878. William Sang in St John's Sydney Choir for 27 years.
