Notes |
- Dave lived in Kyancutta all his life. he attended Kyancutta School until he was 14 (Grade 6). Dave wan not a scholar. After leaving school he worked for his cousin Ray Mullan for 3 years then for his father. He joined the Australian Military Force (NO. 557072) on 26/9/1942, and served for 218 days. He then share-farmed with Cyril Holman until he married.
Dave leased his father's farm from1/3/1948 and may have purchased the farm after a year for 1325 pounds. He worked for Leo Daniels from 1948-53 and from 1/3/1953 he share-farmed for W. Mitchell. Dave was not a traveller. he loved race horses, and played bowls, golf, football and cricket. He was a big man, and he used his physical strength in his younger days playing football, and guile in his latter years when playing cricket for Kyancutta. His many trophies, especially for cricket, attest to his sporting prowess. (The Tucker Family in Australia, 1992)
