  Peter studied law, completing his L.L.B. On April 12th 1982 while travelling to Mt Gambier, the family was involved in a head-on collision in which Peter was killed and Kay severely injured, being unconscious for two weeks. She suffered multiple fractures and moderately severe head injuries.
