Notes |
- Henry was a very prominent sportsman in his youth, excelling at cricket, football and later, bowls. Like so many Malle farmers he endured hard times during the depression years when poor prices and poor seasons went hand in hand. Sometimes much of the crop had to be cut for hay just to feed hungry horses and often they went to the shops in Pinnaroo with a pittance in the purse. However, he held on, to pass a thriving, prosperous farm to his sons.
In later years Henry became President of the School Committee, Pinaroo Agricultural Society, Pinnaroo South Football Club and Pinnaroo Bowling Club. He was also a J.P. He now lives with Stella in retirement in Pinnaroo. (The Tucker Family in Australia. 1992)
