Notes |
- Twin Brother of twin girl that died shortly after birth.
Sid and Stella were cousins: their grandfathers were brothers: John and William Smith. Their farms were back to back at the foothills at Warnertown. Sid was so small as a baby that he was raised in a shoe box on the oven door! In Whyalla they had a particularly vociferous cocky. Stella has a distinctive voice, is friendly and hospitable and kept an impeccably clean house. In all her married life she was only away from her husband while he was in hospital in Adelaide on one occasion. They were very dependent upon each other. Sid worked on boilers and with copper pipes in the ship building yards. He was a registered plumber. On the Friday before he died he had an E.C.G. which gave a clear result, He saw his brother-in-law off on the train that night and was dead of a stroke by 10 am the next day. He was a keen stamp collector and did a lot for the elderly citizens of Whyalla. Stella is currently in the Annie Lockwood Nursing Home, Whyalla, South Australia. (The Tucker Family in Australia, 1992)
Cedrics birth details were recorded after Cleveland on the birth certificate and therefore probably the younger twin, Originally just called "Henley". The Cedric was added at a later date to the certificate, probably when it was obvious that he would live.
