William Henry Paterson Q19243 Enlisted in the Austrian Imperial Force on 28th April 1917 at Enoggara, Queensland, Australia and served at the Rifle Range ennoggara in the Machine Gun Reinforcements until he was discharged medically unfit on 24 July 1917.
H was involved in an accident approximately 8 years earlier in Mackay Qland where he was working on the Wharfs, about 11 bags of sugar came out of ships sling and fell on his back causing fracture of clavical and splintering of sternum, neumoris of bone set in, and region had to be plated.
The plate in front of his chest right side causes irritation when performing physical drill and he was not able to use his right arm for any prolonged period at sever exercise.
The Army medical board found that Crescen shaped scar over sternum and R Clavicle, Deformity of inner end of R Clavicle, metal plate projecting 1/4 inch above Sternum and clavicle causing interference with all movements of head and right arm.
The medical board declared it was an old injury to sternum and right clavicle and recommend he be discharged unfit for military service. |
