This film deals with the participation of the Australian troops in the third battle of Ypres during the autumn of 1917. The scenes include Australians preparing for the attack; being reviewed by Sir Douglas Haig before going in to action; shells falling amongst the ruins of Ypres and then shows shows the battlefields over which Australians fought and incidents connected with the fighting.

This film was taken in October 1917 on the front and shows real time footage of the third battle of Ypres in Autumn 1917. Hemsley fought in this battle and was killed on 15 October 1917. It goes for about 22 minutes, is about 94m in size and will take a while to down load, but well worth the wait. It will put in perspective what Hemesley and his fellow soldiers went through during this battle.
